Paul Goddard says, "The fact is that we are mostly all intensive computer users who work sitting down for long periods. Statistics now show that the resulting musculo-skeletal disorders or MSDs are now the most common cause of absence from work, that's over 55%."
"The secret is the concept of prevention. Mostly people can't be bothered and will only start complaining after it's too late but the reality is they could prevent it if they were willing to participate in avoiding the problem in the first place."
Today is Silver Surfers Day– aimed at attracting older people to the Internet.
The day is being used to promote digital inclusion and the use of computers by older people via coordinated events all around the country.
Keytools hosted a Silver Surfers Event at their Resource Centre in Southampton. One of the attendees, Mrs Judy Fish aged 84, found her visit very rewarding:
"I managed to find and print off a Hairy Bikers recipe for Somerset Chicken. I saw them making it on TV last night, and fancied giving it a try."
"I also found old photos of the building in Portland where I grew up. It brought back some lovely memories."
Keytools mission is that everyone has the best possible equipment and resources, to use their computer easily, safely, and productively and are proud to support Silver Surfers Day.
