Keytools help NHS make savings

Streamlining healthcare computer equipment into NHS trusts

NHS trusts are now saving time and money on procuring quality computing equipment, quickly and easily with Keytools. As an approved supplier to the NHS from 1 September 2010, Keytools are delivering ergonomic equipment and assistive technology to NHS trusts across the UK.

The NHS Supply Chain offers a one route solution, which simplifies purchasing processes and offers market competitive prices. The money and time saved means more resources can be dedicated to frontline patient care.

Keytools provide assistive technology and ergonomic computer equipment, with their specialist healthcare equipment to the medical market in the UK. The demand for computing equipment meant Keytools were selected as an approved supplier.

“We’re delighted to be selected to help the NHS make savings in these budget conscious times”
S Colebrook, General Manager, Keytools

Chair spotting

A side effect of working with the best ergonomic equipment at Keytools is that you may become something of a "spotter". Especially when watching TV.

Last night's new episode of Spooks on BBC showed Harry meeting the new Home Secretary. On entering the office, Harry spots the Home Secretary's new chair being set up - a Herman Miller Aeron. The Home Secretary notices this and explains his new acquisition by stating,

"Good lumbar support. My only vice ... amongst others!"

A knowledgeable chap!

We'll keep our eyes out for more equipment becoming "extras" on TV.

Chris is getting married in the morning ...

Chris, one of our account managers, is getting married this weekend.

We're celebrating his last day as a single man in the office in traditional style - although we're not sure the veil suits.

Everyone at Keytools offers Chris and Leah their best wishes for a fantastic wedding and a wonderful life together as Mr & Mrs.

New TUC report reviewing Health & Safety

The TUC have just issued a report emphasising the continued importance of Health & Safety in the workplace.

Some of their findings include:
- Big rises in Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) and Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) which affect over ½ million
- Partly because of a huge rise in IT, with far more people typing and sitting for long periods
It is not true that offices are safe – Stress & RSI is more common in offices and account for 70% of all work-related illness
- Growth of computing has transformed the way we work

They conclude:

- Health & Safety is about controlling risks. Significant risks should be removed.
- TUC recommend that Directors should have a legal duty to ensure the Health & Safety of employees
- TUC recommend that government appoint a Health & Safety champion

The full report can be viewed here:

21 today

Keytools is celebrating its 21st Birthday today!

Computers have changed a lot since 1989 – check out this image of an Apple laptop from then!

To celebrate we’re having a themed “Around the World” day in the office. We’re dressing up, having great food and raising money for one of our favourite charities – the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST).

JST operates the only two tall ships in the world designed and built to enable people of all physical abilities to sail side-by-side as equals.

We’ll also be running a fantastic competition for all of our customers – check out your inboxes for more information.

Happy 21st Birthday Keytools!
